Which Course is Right for Me?

Stoic Preparatory Course (Ages 14–18)

Restricted to children and family of alumni, or teens recommended by alumni with parental consent. As with the adult courses, this course provides a Certificate of Completion.

Stoic Essential Studies (SES)

Most adults begin with this 16-week foundational course. This course is the pre-requisite for the Marcus Aurelius Program. Some choose to take one of our specialized elective courses, which require no pre-requisites. All courses provide a Certificate of Completion.

The Marcus Aurelius Program (MAP)

Our flagship 12-month curriculum consists of four consecutive courses – Logic, Physics, Ethics, and Prosochē. In addition to individual course completion certificates, graduates are awarded the title of Fellow of the College of Stoic Philosophers (FCSP).

Elective Courses

The College is adding a range of courses that stand apart from our regular sequence. These courses have no pre-requisites an can be taken in any order: On Heraclitus, Stoic Cosmic Consciousness, Stoic Nursing, and Spinoza and the Stoics (coming in Summer 2026). 

Faculty Path

MAP graduates who seek to join our all-volunteer faculty must complete at least one elective course and be recommended by prior mentors. Qualified applicants will undertake a 16+ week Faculty Practicum.
