Ages 14-18
The Stoic Preparatory Course (Prep) is a 10-week program that helps teens understand Stoicism as a way of life, and to prepare them to navigate life’s turbulence: Stoicism is not about suppressing your emotions; it is about understanding your emotions and having that understanding guide your actions.
A qualified Stoic mentor will accompany you through this journey, helping you see how just a few simple ideas can change and improve the way you live each day. The course involves some reading and writing activities. All work is completion-based (not graded), and will be accepted based on the Honor System. At the end of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
This 10-week course utilizes a curriculum developed by the College, along with the Epictetus’ Enchiridion and Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations. The syllabus is included in the Parental Consent Form (below).
Application is open to students ages 14 to 18. Students under age 18 must have their parents complete the Parental Consent form prior to being considered for admission. Should parental consent be denied, payment will be refunded. The tuition fee is US$90.
Application for PREP:
You must be between 14 and 18 to qualify for this course. Students under 18 must have their parents’ Consent. Those older than 18 should apply to our Stoic Essential Studies Course.
