Marcus Aurelius Program (MAP)

Pre-requisite:  Stoic Essential Studies (SES)

Advanced Stoicism

The Marcus Aurelius Program (MAP) is a mentored program for working adults. It is designed to reinforce your commitment and growth as a Stoic philosopher through practical concepts and the acquisition of wisdom, versus the accumulation of knowledge. The program consists of four 4 courses, each of which is 11 weeks duration. Course progression is as follows: Logic, Physics, Ethics, and Prosochē. Students may commence at any time, dependent on the availability of a mentor.

Successful completion of each stage of the program will result in a Certificate; completion of the entire program results in the award of Fellow of the College of Stoic Philosophers (FCSP). If recommended by their mentor, a student may apply to participate in a mentorship Practicum as a stepping stone toward joining the faculty.

The Stoic Philosopher

The pursuit of wisdom has often been sidelined in contemporary education, with its focus on the transfer of specialized knowledge and development of vocational skills.

In ancient times, character development and practical ethics was often the culminating educational experience for adults who pursued wisdom. And of those who did, philosophical practice became a way of life. Stoic philosophers have always believed that wisdom was not an accident of birth, but a skill to be cultivated through rigorous practice.

The Marcus Aurelius Program was created to bridge this gap, offering a dedicated path for those seeking to integrate Stoic principles into their daily lives.
