Cliff Kliewer, FCSP

Cliff’s journey into Stoicism began in 2021, when he by chance came across an article on the philosophy of Marcus Aurelius, a name he recognized from the few dozen times he watched the movie “Gladiator” in his childhood.

Intrigued, he purchased a few books and began learning what he could, although with little direction at the time. Eventually, he stumbled upon the College of Stoic Philosophers, and being at a point in his life that he was seeking a deeper meaning and understanding of life and the universe, he felt the pull to dive in and learn the philosophy the way the ancient Stoics had intended.

Cliff completed the SES course in the summer of 2023, and wanting more, quickly enrolled in the Marcus Aurelius Program, which he completed in the summer of 2024.

Cliff lives in the sunny interior of British Columbia, Canada, with his cat. He spends his weekdays working as a journeyman sheet metal worker, helping to make buildings more pleasant to look at. His hobbies include hiking, hunting, historical fencing, video games, and of course, reading philosophy and history.
